Be Green Recycling is a curbside recycling pick-up service located in Carmi, IL.  Our route covers inside city limits, Colony West and surrounding areas.


ITEMS ACCEPTED:

~  #1 Plastic bottles (i.e. water, soda, etc.)

~  #2 Plastic bottles (i.e. milk, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc.)

~  Aluminum cans

~  Steel/Tin cans

~  Newspaper and inserts

~  Magazines/Catalogs/Phone books

~  Office paper and junk mail

~  Cardboard and Boxboard (i.e. cereal & food boxes)

~  Plastic bags, Stretch film, and Bubble Wrap

~Books of any kind

~Shredded paper (bagged separately)

~Miscellaneous Metals

An 18-gallon bin and liners are provided and pick-ups are bi-weekly(every other week).

Monthly service is $10 for residential customers.  Business customer rates start at $20 and up depending on amount of recycling and frequency of pick up.

*Special Drop-Off Nov. 18

Be Green will have a drop-off day on Tuesday, Nov. 18 for White County residents who would like to recycle.  Be Green, in coordination with the White County Soil & Water Conservation District, will be located at the WCSWCD parking lot of the USDA Service Center located at 1105 W. Main in Carmi between 1 and 3 p.m. Nov. 18.

Residents will be able to bring their recyclables and sort them in the following categories:  newspapers, magazines, phone books, junk mail, aluminum cans, steel/tin cans, #1 plastic bottles and #2 plastic bottles.  Only these items will be accepted at the drop-off.

Be Green and WCSWCD are offering this drop-off at no charge to White County residents to promote and encourage recycling in a continuing effort to improve the environment.
